Rally Point Plans are designed as a base planning tool for members within each region. There may be many rally points for each member to plan for. These plans allow for each member to visualize where they need to go relative to where they start from. Rally point plans were created by considering a
number of criteria for the safest and most efficient transition from where you are to where you need to go with added consideration for what life should be like once you get there. This selection criteria for a rally point is:
‐ Remote and away from populated areas
‐ Near fresh water supply with abundant fish and game
‐ Defensible position with road(s) in and out
‐ Must be public use land
‐ Provides cover
These plans take you from a starting point, usually a populated area of 200,000 or more people, through a series of initial points, intermediate points to a final rally point a safe distance away from the populated area. The distance is typically not more than 5 days walk for a person who can move without
assistance or who is physically capable of such a walk. This is worst case.

Description:
Rally point is open field surrounded by dense forest within 1 mile of multiple lakes, fresh water, fish and game. Location is a large public wilderness park that can accommodate thousands of people living in the dense forested area. Living conditions would be very primitive and winters challenging, but sustainable resources provide long term survival opportunity if populated areas are too dangerous to return to. Elevation is between 2,000 and
3,000 feet above sea level and will require gear for cold weather survival. Area access can be monitored from unimproved roads off Route 30.
Local Directions:
Note: once you leave Route 30, expect unimproved dirt roads that may be closed in the winter, be prepared to walk from Route 30 and Jessup River Rd.
